So....we have been getting a little bored with our weekends lately. and really doesn’t everyone every once in a while...I mean, how many times can I go to McFadden’s and pretend like everyone around me ISNT 18 years old?! So what to do?
If you're bored of the same monotony...try a dinner party, and cheap the price down by making it a pot luck dinner party. You can make cheap easy and quick things. Here is what we did.
Chicken Parmesan: Lovely Leslie went out and got Purdue breaded chicken cutlets (the low fat kind so that it was "somewhat healthy") added marinara and cheese, baked in the oven for about 15 minutes on 365 and it was “good to go!”
Risotto: The wonderfully talented Eve made some risotto for us. She bought a package…added a little cheese and some milk…put it into the Microwave...and once again “good to go” (she just followed the directions on the package...easy!)
Asian Salad: FANTABULOUS! Tara used a bag of the Cole Slaw Mix (16 oz), added some dressing: seasoning from noodles, 3-4 TBSP vinegar (Balsamic), 1/2 Cup oil, 2 TBSP. sugar, 2 pkgs Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodles (break up noodles), threw some chopped up scallions, and then topped it off with some toasted almonds and sesame seeds…and then mixed it all together...SUPERB! She also said in college she used to add chicken and mandarin oranges and made it a mean meal!
Then we made Pillsbury crescent rolls, and Strawberry Daiquiris. We used the TGIFridays daiquiri mix then added some Malibu Rum and ice…and blended it in the blender...and they were FANTASTIC! Trust me…
It was great…good conversation was had by all, some good topics of conversation were Tara’s two boyfriends…and what to do when you miss a movie…in Tara’s case…sleep with your “supposed” boyfriend…we all have alleged boyfriends every now and then!
Then we went to McFadden’s...and although we were already buzzed, everyone was still 18!
