M & M's
No no no...Not the candies! Mo'Nique and Martha are together today on you're TV! Mo'Nique...Star of the movie Phat Girlz (which I gushed about the other day!) is on Martha today! It's sure to be a must see so get that TiVo set! Mo'Nique is SOOOOO funny!!! Loves it!
On another note, the story of how the movie came to life is almost as interesting as the movie itself. The writer Nnegest Likké said that her idea for the movie came from her experiences of being a plus sized woman in America. When she first saw Mo'Nique perform for Queens of Comedy she knew she needed to have her in the film and was instantly inspired. She was able to bang out her script in THREE WEEKS! Now to get into the film industry and actually have your film just considered to be made you pretty much need contacts and an agent, but Nnegest Likké decided to take a chance and just put her script out there! And other there she did get it! Straight to Mo'Nique who instantly fell in love with the script and agreed to be a part of it.
Nnegest Likké must be a little bit Irish, because she seems to have some MAJOR luck. The next year she met up with Bobby Newmyer who just happened to really want to do a film with Mo'Nique. The two had an instant connection and he loved her script as wellAndand so is the story of how Phat Girlz was made!
The story of how Nnegest Likké was able to make her film is almost as inspiring as the message it spreads. So once again I'm going to have to say....Go see it people! And if you have, I would LOVE some comments on what you all thought...I mean my comment area is looking VERY sad lately!! :)
